Daniel Wurtz, M.D., appointed interim chair
Randy Loder, M.D., who has served as Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and section leader for pediatrics since 2011, has chosen to step down effective June 30 in order to devote more time to clinical practice and patient care.
Dan Wurtz, M.D., will assume the role of interim chair of the department effective July 1. Dr. Wurtz is an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery and an orthopaedic surgical oncologist. He’s been a full-time faculty member of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for 18 years and has a robust surgical practice across the Academic Health Center. His clinical practice and research interest has focused on a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and limb-saving reconstruction for children and adults.
