General Application Information
The Charles H. Turner Young Investigator Bone Research Award is a Travel Award to support trainees at all levels from undergraduate to postdoctoral fellows/residents at the Indiana University School of Medicine, Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, or Purdue University to attend the Advances in Mineral Metabolism (AIMM) meeting or the Sun Valley meeting. The 2017 recipient will receive $1200 to present their bone research at the 2017 meeting. Registration to the meeting will be waived. The recipient/recipient’s laboratory will be responsible for any costs exceeding the award amount. The award will be given based on a competitive evaluation of submitted abstracts and description of why you would like to receive this award. Abstracts should be no more than 500 words (excluding, title, authors, and affiliations). In addition to the abstract, the applicant must complete the enclosed coversheet and should provide a separate paragraph, of not more than 500 words, detailing what the Turner Award would mean to you. The selected recipient is expected to attend the entire meeting so please check your schedules and if you cannot attend the entire meeting please consider applying a different year as you cannot get the most out of this opportunity if you are not available for the full opportunity. The AIMM meeting is April 4-8, 2017 and the Sun Valley meeting is August 6-9, 2017. Deadline for receipt of application materials is 5 PM on January 16, 2017.
